The day he almost died, he was nursed to live again with sunshine and a mixture of raw egg and honey...and lots and lots of love. Within a week he was running and playing...and now he runs the house and all our four-legged and two-legged beings. And here he is...climbing up a tree...King of the Kismadi Garden!

my little elephant
Been meaning to post this picture on my blog for a while...it's my own little elephant, Gajah! Yes, I decided to rename our little black cat - previously called Little Black - Gajah, or elephant. This was after he got very, very sick and almost died a few months ago. He had severe diarrhea, didn't want to eat, and could only drink a little bit before sitting quietly...sometimes toppling over when one of his siblings pounced on him, wanting to play.
So I decided to try something different. I put him in a little plastic basin with a towel in it, and sat with him in the morning sun. Interestingly, as soon as the sun hit him, he started to meow softly and then actually stood up and got out of the basin to walk in the grass. That day, I decided to give him a name that symbolized strength... a name that would give him the will to live. Hence, Gajah. My little black kitten with a big name!
