Ibu made apple pie yesterday. And pancakes for breakfast, too! But what is most significant is her apple pie. It's been six years since she's baked. Not only because our oven hasn't been working, but also because baking was something she (and I) did for Bapak. I remember that he would sometimes say, "Hmmmm.... I feel like chocolate cake!" - and I'd bake him one. His ultimate favourite? Ibu's pineapple upside down cake.
It felt good. Seeing Ibu's apple pie again. Am sure Bapak was enjoying watching us take our first bites...
